LCardiology is one of the strengths of French biomedical research and one of the disciplines where innovations have benefited patients the most. Each year, 16 million people push the door of the office of one of the 6,900 French cardiologists and, if heart disease remains the second cause of death in France following cancer, it has dropped by half since 1980.
