Bringing Advanced Cardiology to Togo: A Doctor’s Passion Project
Driven by a commitment to improving healthcare in his homeland, Jacques Hado, a 36-year-old cardiologist, is embarking on a mission to bring advanced cardiac care to the Togolese countryside. Hado, who hails from northern Togo, honed his medical expertise in his native country, specializing in cardiology after completing his medical studies.
Prior to his arrival in France for a professional internship at the Jura Sud hospital center in Lons-le-Saunier two years ago, Hado was actively involved with the Alma-Noa association, a group dedicated to combating nutritional diseases and obesity in Africa. It was during his time in France that Hado’s vision for Cardio-Togo began to take shape.
“During this period, and before returning to my country, I met wonderful people who helped me develop my Cardio-Togo project in order to develop the practice of advanced cardiology in the Togolese countryside,” Hado shared.
On November 29th, at the Rouget-de-Lisle hotel, Hado presented his ambitious project to members of the Peuples solidaire Jura association, a group that has been instrumental in supporting his endeavors. The association played a crucial role in raising 20,000 euros, essential funds earmarked for the purchase of vital cardiology equipment.
Hado’s Cardio-Togo project aims to address the stark healthcare disparities that exist between urban and rural communities in Togo. Access to specialized medical services, particularly in the field of cardiology, remains limited in the Togolese countryside.
Hado’s initiative is not just about providing medical equipment; it’s about building a sustainable healthcare infrastructure that will empower local communities. By equipping rural clinics with the necessary tools and training healthcare professionals, Cardio-Togo seeks to ensure that individuals living in remote areas have access to timely and effective cardiac care.
Driven by a deep sense of responsibility towards his community, Hado’s dedication to Cardio-Togo reflects a profound understanding of the profound impact access to quality healthcare can have on individuals’ lives. His project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to improving the well-being of others.
How has Dr. Hado’s experience in France prepared him to address the specific cardiac care needs of the people in Togo?
