Marquise “Hollywood” Brown received a less-than-ideal welcome to Arizona following being traded to the Cardinals last year. In August, the wide receiver was arrested for speeding. Reportedly, Brown was going 126 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.
On body cam footage obtained by TMZ, the Cardinals wide receiver told the Arizona Department of Public Safety officer during his 2022 arrest that he was on his way to football practice while being handcuffed on the side of the road.
‘What the hell were you going that fast for?’ the officer asked.
‘Sorry, I was on my way to football practice, sir,’ said Brown, who was entering his first season in Arizona following being traded from Baltimore prior to the 2022 season.
“You know better than going that fast,” the officer said, to which Brown responded: “Yes, sir. I’m new here, sir.”
Brown returned to training
Marquise Brown returned to training following reportedly having some soreness.
Brown was limited Monday and took part in the initial part of Tuesday’s practice, following which coach Jonathan Gannon told Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com that the wide receiver was dealing with “nicks and bruises.”
While Drake noted that Wednesday’s session was low intensity, it’s still an encouraging sign for Brown to get in some more work. Any reps that Brown is unable to handle will filter down to Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, Michael Wilson and Zach Pascal, among others.
