Cardinal Baltazar Porras hopes that on #28Jul the popular will will be respected

Cardinal Baltazar Porras expressed this Tuesday, July 16, that the presidential elections on July 28 are a process “without equality.”

In an interview for Unión Radio, the cardinal said that Venezuelans find themselves “in a moment where conditions are so restricted” that the process is not only about voting, “but about having the ability to choose.”

«The country does not end on July 28, but it continues after. “Any type of retaliation in a climate of mistrust where there is a multiplicity of information does not make any sense,” he expressed.

“We must have enough sense, respect and help each other, because we are all necessary,” added the theologian, who hopes that the popular will will be respected in the elections, which in his opinion “is the reason for being of a society that wants to call itself and call itself democratic.

Regarding the parties and actors confronted during the electoral process, he recalled that the problems “are not solved by turning our backs and avoiding each other,” on the contrary, we must seek a common dialogue “focused on the good of the people.”
