Cardinal Ambongo affair: Moïse Katumbi, the little tilapia who interferes in the battle of the sharks

Cardinal Ambongo is the subject of legal questioning following his homilies deemed “sarcastic” by the Tshisekedi regime. Despite the serious tone of the defense of the Catholic Church, the clergy benefits from the support of a counterweight to the power in place, Moïse Katumbi.

In a statement, Katumbi indicates that “this Cardinal and Metropolitan Archbishop of Kinshasa only carries the voice of the Congolese who endure endless atrocious suffering.” For him, “Congolese justice is therefore trying to muzzle this voice of the afflicted, the poor, the victims of injustice, wars and mismanagement of public affairs”.

Katumbi retroactive and invites Tshisekedi to exercise caution

Moïse Katumbi remains the church in the middle of the village, playing the democratic game with delicacy for the benefit of the Congolese people. The legal attacks and uprising once morest the Catholic Church and its representatives in the DRC will not benefit Tshisekedi and his regime. Burying the hatchet is therefore essential for the current political system if it does not want to awaken the old demons of the failure of the past.

“This intolerable attack on the Catholic Church recalls the dark hours of the tragic history of our Country, marked by the authoritarian regimes which unscrupulously attacked Cardinals Joseph Malula and Laurent Monsengwo, fierce defenders of the truth, justice and good governance. Today, Cardinal Ambongo is faced with this same repression, perpetrated by a power that fears truth and transparency. But, at all times, we observe that regimes which attack the Church and its dignitaries fail miserably. It is therefore better to refrain from it,” he said.

Katumbi suggests a diversion from the vision once outlined by the peers of the UDPS, notably Etienne Tshisekedi Wa Mulumba. Today’s strong men are trying to stifle the misdeeds of the present regime by taking “truncated” and less “healthy” paths for the life of the Republic. The return to original sources is therefore an absolute obligation.

“Despite the fight led by Etienne Tshisekedi and the entire opposition, who would have thought that a regime that calls itself democratic would choose the path of repression to stifle all legitimate criticism? The fragility and weakness of a regime, plunged into an alarming dictatorial drift, are now exposed in broad daylight. All Congolese have the right to respect for their fundamental rights and the Church, concerned regarding collective well-being, can only ensure this, in particular by denouncing everything that destroys the Republic and plunges the Congolese into unbearable misery. he blurted.

And to add: “If respect for fundamental rights has a price, let it be communicated to us so that it can be paid in order to recover the freedom and collective well-being sought by the Cardinal and Metropolitan Archbishop of Kinshasa. Whatever the intimidation and repression, the truth will not be suppressed.
May God open the hearts of all to the Cardinal’s homilies and sermons.”

Moïse Katumbi plays with fire

Powerful businessman, Moïse Katumbi would be playing with fire by rubbing shoulders with a “monster” regime ready to raise its standard high. As of today, the unsuccessful candidate of the last presidential election might not favorably support Cardinal Ambongo without effective means.

Katumbi does not have the people on his side. The main lines of history are being written on the ground but the man from Kashobwe cannot claim to do better following his “monumental failure” on Kinshasa soil during the electoral campaign. Political analyzes point to a deterioration in the image of the former governor at the same time as that of the regime; which gives power an advantage thanks to the institutions under its control.

In a statement, Félix Tshisekedi said: “If the prisons will be full of thieves, then they will be full.” At the rate the soap opera is progressing, Katumbi might see himself behind bars even before Cardinal Ambongo in view of his media outings which would annoy the regime. No matter how much we deny it, Katumbi is no longer the darling of the Congolese government and therefore no Christmas present will be given to him.
