Mexico does not have a long-term nation projectcriticized the former presidential candidate, Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas.
“It is clear to us that, to move in a positive direction, we must have in mind, you must have as an objective, the realization of a project for the country, a project for the nation,” he said.
During the presentation of his book “For a progressive democracy”, in Mexico City, The experredista assured that the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and in past administrations has “privileged improvisation and occurrences.”
Cárdenas pointed out that there are no proposals or programs for economic growth and to face social backwardness, “much less in the face of the most heartfelt demand, which is violence and insecurity.”
“They ask me what the 4T is and I don’t know what to answer,” he said at the Industrial Club, where he reaffirmed that there is no continuity in public policies.
For this reason, the Mexican politician explained that in his book he insists “where we are and how to get ahead.”
“Where do we want to go, what should be the course of Mexico, what should be the course of Mexicans,” he mentioned.
AMLO applies “same medicine” to face insecurity, but only accentuates it
The Government of Mexico continues to apply the “same medicine” of previous administrations to combat insecurity, which only exacerbates the problem, said Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas, a former presidential candidate.
In an interview, he remarked that Mexico has been following the same strategy for decades to combat organized crime “and the only thing we see is that the degree of crime increases.”
“What this phenomenon is telling us is that we have to look for other paths (…) both State institutions and academic institutions and organized citizens would have to concur,” he added.
The founder of the PRD highlighted the militarization of security tasks during the present government as a mistake, since the elements in charge of that task, he said, must depend on civilian bodies.
