“Cardano Development Report: Latest Statistics and Updates on ADA Network Performance”

2023-04-17 14:35:54

Recently, the latest statistics from the Cardano network have come to light, giving a very exciting glimpse into the evolution of ADA. Input Output Global (IOG), the organization responsible for the development of Cardano, published a weekly development report for the week ending April 14. From this, we learned more regarding the various developments, such as the fact that Cardano’s technical team has been working mainly on improving the performance of the network in the recent period.

Life is going on around the Cardano house

Most of the various technical teams have been working on Lace 1.0, IOG’s crypto wallet platform, which launched on the mainnet on April 11, 2023. For example, the Adrestia team made performance optimization changes, while the Plutus team made improvements related to Plutus scripts. For example, they added native support for additional data types and tweaked file sizes. In March, the Hydra team mainly worked on API requests related to the Hydra voting project and, for example, implemented a short-term solution for a restore problem. From a management point of view, the CIP-1694 Cardano Development Proposal has been on the table for the past few weeks – aka the Voltaire update. As part of the negotiations, the transformation of the current management framework, the so-called On the Constitutional Committee, the role of stake pool operators and the duties of delegated representatives (dReps).

But the best part of the whole report was seeing statistics. According to them, 124 projects have been launched on Cardano so far and 8.11 million native tokens have been created. 7738 Plutus scripts were developed and 64.6 million transactions were processed on the network. By the way, the CIP-1694 development proposal was also discussed in detail on Twitter this week by Cardano Spot, which represents the Cardano community. The big advantage of the Voltaire update would be that it would put the development issues of the protocol in the hands of the community, i.e. say the consensus rules. CIP-1694 would create two new groups. On the one hand, DReps, to whom ADA holders can delegate their voting rights. On the other hand, the Constitutional Committee, which would consist of elected members. Their task would be to ensure a proper transition towards community management.
