the essentials Alexandra and Mathieu Zachara, managers of the “Maela G” boutique in Carcassonne, are organizing a “well-being meeting” on Saturday December 2 and Sunday December 3, at the Lamourelle international stay center in Carcassonne. An event which will bring together therapists and artisans from the region, for the benefit of their association Cœur de phénix.
For three years, Alexandra and Mathieu Zachara have managed the wellness and lithotherapy products boutique “Maela G”, in Carcassonne. And it is a whole new adventure that the couple is embarking on, that of organizing “The well-being meeting before Christmas”. This event intended to highlight therapists and artisans in the region will be held on Saturday December 2 and Sunday December 3 at the Lamourelle international stay center, in Carcassonne.
Originally from Gironde, Alexandra had already co-organized demonstrations in this department. “I always told myself that I would have my own salon one day,” she confides. Almost done. And this trader prefers to warn, this event has nothing to do with the fairs of big cities: “I don’t want something commercial, it will be cute, very cozy, a big family with participants that I have myself- even selected”. On site, nearly 25 stands, all related to well-being. Visitors will find lithotherapy, clairvoyance, cartomancy, personal development, shiatsu massage, art therapy and even phototherapy. As well as artisans such as a stained glass worker, a soap creator or a beekeeper who makes her own honey and beauty products.
In tribute to their last daughter
Alexandra and Mathieu are organizing this meeting for the benefit of their association “Cœur de phénix”, created last July with their eldest daughter Loane. This helps children with disabilities and their families, and in particular children suffering from chromosomal deletion (mutation – genetic aberration – in which part of a chromosome or a DNA sequence is left aside during DNA replication). “This mainly leads to problems with motor development, some have difficulty walking or sitting, they need to be stimulated regularly,” explains Alexandra. And her husband adds: “There may also be consequences on eyesight or lungs.”
This associative commitment is a tribute to their youngest daughter Gabriela, who died of this disability last year, at the age of two and a half. Supporting other families was necessary for the merchant: “We never expect our child to have a disability. When that happens, we feel abandoned, alone, misunderstood. We want to support families who are going through what we are experiencing. lived and raise awareness, even if today it is difficult to raise awareness.” Through various actions, the Zachara family intends to raise funds solely intended for the comfort of these families. For example, by buying toys for Christmas. “But not just any ones,” explains Alexandra, “those that can be used to stimulate them, those that will promote their development. Because some families don’t have the means.”
If their daughter Gabriela was “very well followed” by the Early Medical-Social Action Center (CAMSP) in Carcassonne, and in particular by the caregivers Cécile and Raquel, it was nevertheless certain difficulties encountered which also pushed Alexandra and Mathieu to create this association: “They have to take care of so many people that sometimes the wait is long. For example, they lent us a deckchair suitable for my daughter who might not sit still while waiting to receive ours which is arrived a year later,” she says. Mathieu adds: “That’s why if we can help even two or three families with our own means, that would be great.” The couple is still thinking regarding next initiatives, including the possibility of later creating support groups. A stand for the benefit of the association will be present during the Well-being Rendezvous, with several goodies on sale.
