group in crisis
The Stuttgart group is in crisis and is struggling with the upheaval in the automotive industry. For a long time, the company had mainly earned its money with parts for the combustion engine. However, many car manufacturers are increasingly relying on e-mobility, so that the sale of pistons, pumps and filters is no longer a viable business area in the long term.
In 2021, Mahle had sales of EUR 5.66 billion in the first half of the year. For the first time in three years, ma was able to report a profit for the first half of the year, namely EUR 54.9 million. Figures for the year as a whole are not yet available. At the end of 2020, Mahle still had around 72,000 employees.
