On the evening of July 21 in Hall in Tirol (Innsbruck-Land district), the police caught a 40-year-old German car driver with nine kilograms of cocaine hidden in the car during a check. A total of nine packages, each containing around 1,000 grams of the drug, were found, the executive said on Wednesday. Investigations into the exact background were underway. At first it was unclear where the cocaine came from and who it was intended for. The accused was silent at times. He has since been placed in pre-trial detention, it said.
Before the drug was found, “disagreements” arose during the control, as the police put it. The unemployed German could not produce a driver’s license and was not the registered owner of the vehicle. A drug-sniffing dog finally sniffed out the cocaine, which led to a more intensive search of the car and ultimately to the find.
