A car caught fire following hitting the facade of a residence in Alma, Lac-Saint-Jean.
After losing control, the driver of a vehicle hit a house located on Avenue du Pont Nord, which is Route 169 in the area. The accident occurred on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., not far from rue des Bécassines.
The two people in the car were not injured, but the vehicle caught fire following the crash. The fire subsequently spread to the residence. Fortunately, no one was inside.
The residence suffered very heavy damage. Firefighters were still on scene late Wednesday evening.
Route 169 is still closed to traffic and a detour is in effect for several hours.
