Car accidents kill 11 people in Luanda in 72 hours – news

Eleven people died and twelve were injured as a result of road accidents, in the last 72 hours, in the city of Luanda, the causes of which were essentially due to excessive speed and lack of caution when driving, according to the Provincial Command of the National Police

The public security report of the last 72 hours, made available by the National Police, shows, with regard to the regularization and inspection of car traffic, the record of 19 road accidents and material damage valued at more than seven million kwanzas.

Of that number of accidents, 11 people died and 12 were injured. Along the same path, 387 motorists were fined for various infractions of the Highway Code, with emphasis on 56 fines for stopping in prohibited places, 71 fines for not having mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance and 62 for not wearing a seat belt. . According to the Provincial Command of the National Police, road accidents essentially resulted from excessive speed and lack of caution when driving.

To contain speed, eleven radar barriers and other technical means were used for this purpose, with a greater incidence on avenues Fidel de Castro Ruz, Pedro de Castro Van-Dúnem Loy, 21 de Janeiro and Estrada Nacional n.° 100, in Cabo Ledo. In another situation, the Police seized three firearms, recovered food, electronic devices and household utensils previously in the possession of criminals, as well as detaining 151 citizens suspected of committing various crimes.

In all municipalities of the capital city, they carried out 10 micro-operations, allowing the clarification of 33 crimes, with emphasis on 17 crimes of robbery and 9 crimes of theft in residences and on public roads, which resulted in the arrest of 58 citizens allegedly involved . On the other hand, the PN appeals to citizens and companies that intend to move large amounts of money to request assistance, at no cost, from the National Police or to hire private security companies with specialties in money transport.

The PN suggests that, in a period like this, during the festive season, citizens should remain attentive and vigilant when carrying out any commercial transaction and, at the end of it, demand a proof of receipt, in order to create protection once morest crimes of fraud.
