Mani C Kappan MLA prepares to return to NCP Mani C Kappan had a preliminary discussion with NCP National President Sharad Pawar. It is learned that the NCP state leadership has promised Mani C Kappan to replace AK Shashidran as minister.
NCP state president PC Chacko has taken the initiative to bring Mani C Kappan back into the party. Mani C Kappan had several discussions with PC Chacko. Following this, Mani C Kappan also spoke to NCP National President Sharad Pawar. PC Chacko has promised to replace Mani AK Kappin with Mani C Kappan. It is learned that Mani C Kappan is also interested in returning to the NCP. The party had earlier said that Shashindra and another MLA, Thomas K Thomas, would hold the ministry post for two and a half years each. Sharad Pawar had spoken to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yachury to get the vacant Rajya Sabha seat in Kerala for PC Chacko.
Yachuri told Pawar that the state unit of the party would take a decision. Pawar may also talk to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding Chacko. If the NCP gets a Rajya Sabha seat, A.K. Pro-PC Chacko leaders are thinking of making Shashindra the NCP state president and Kappan the minister instead. One faction is not interested in bringing back Kappan, who left the NCP to form the NCK and became the UDF candidate, as he did not get a Pala seat in the elections. The position of the NCP national leadership is crucial in this regard. What the CPM, CPI and Kerala Congress parties have to say regarding the return of Mani C Kappan is also important.
