Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Mustafa Kamel, captain of the Musical Professions Syndicate in Egypt, revealed the details of the crisis of the American rapper Travis Scott’s concert, saying that the union’s work committee approved the request of the company organizing the American singer’s concert to obtain the technical license necessary to hold the ceremony, before A union spokesperson told CNN earlier that the union had decided to cancel the concert.
Kamel said, in exclusive statements to CNN in Arabic, that “the union followed the major attack on social media to hold the concert in Egypt, and this attack was supported by the publication of photos and videos of previous concerts of the same singer, which witnessed acts that contradict Egyptian identity and customs, and posed a danger to the participants in the ceremony.”
Kamel added that the union contacted the company organizing the party to inquire regarding it obtaining security approval to hold the party. The company claimed at first that it had obtained this approval, but then we discovered that it did not obtain security approval, which prompted the union to withdraw the license issued to hold the party.
Mostafa Kamel confirmed that the decision to withdraw the license to hold the Travis Scott concert did not come from him personally, but came with the approval of all members of the Board of Directors of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, which distances itself from licensing the concert, in light of what was published on social media regarding the danger of this singer’s concerts, according to Kamel.
Kamel explained, in his statements to CNN in Arabic, that the return of granting a license to hold the American singer’s concert is linked to the organizing company obtaining security approval, which is applicable in all countries of the world, he said.
Kamel indicated that the Syndicate of Musical Professions is one of the three bodies responsible for granting licenses for holding artistic concerts, along with the Ministries of Culture and Labor, and that if one of them objects to holding a concert, it is canceled immediately, in coordination with the security authorities, pointing out that the organizing company has the right to cancel it. Artistic license Obtaining the fees paid to the Syndicate in exchange for holding the concert.
Meanwhile, Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris wrote, on his Twitter account: “Canceling the American singer’s concert is not the mistake… rather the mistake is approving it and then canceling it because Egypt loses its credibility and does not respect contracts. The organizer incurred terrible losses, and the announcement of the concert was accompanied by huge global publicity.” For Egypt, we lost it with this cancellation. Knowing that he sang in Saudi Arabia and the Emirates! For information, I have no interest in this concert, despite our management of the Haram region.
