Capitol riots: Congressional probe wants to impeach Trump

Washington | The congressional investigation committee wants to indict former President Donald Trump in the incident of rioting and rioting at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, after the election results were disputed. The panel unanimously recommended that the Justice Department indict Trump. The Department of Justice has to take the final decision in this regard.

It is recommended that Trump be charged with inciting riots. Four main charges are recommended. The congressional panel recommended charges of obstruction of official process, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to make a false statement, and inciting, aiding, abetting, and facilitating insurgency.

Today was the final hearing of the panel. Experts say recommending impeachment against a former president is unprecedented in US history. If convicted, Trump faces up to ten years in prison and a ban on future political activity.
