Cape Verde Makes History with Victory over Ghana in CAN 2023 Opener – Group B Update

Yamoussoukro, January 15 (APS) – Cape Verde scored a historic victory on Sunday in Abidjan once morest Ghana, whom it beat, 2-1, on the first day of Group B of the Cup of Nations 2023, of which he at the same time took the lead in the ranking.

The Cape Verdeans took care of their entry into CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast by winning once morest the Ghanaians. They thus sign their first victory once morest the Black Stars.

Group A is dominated by Côte d’Ivoire which won, 2-0, in the opening match of the CAN, once morest Guinea-Bissau, on Saturday. The two other teams in the group, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, ended in a draw (1-1) on Sunday.
