Support the Library at the Flash Book Sale
The Friends of Canyon Hills Library is hosting a Flash Book Sale on January 7th and 8th. Find great deals on a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, and specialty titles. The sale takes place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm each day at the Canyon Hills branch. You can also browse unique items in the boutique located in the library lobby. The afternoon includes a fun makeover demonstration with Paul’s Wig Products presented by Oakley Semrau, and entertainment by diane jackson. The Anaheim Hills Women’s Club invites all women to their “Welcome the New Year” celebration luncheon on January 22nd at The Clubhouse at anaheim Hills Golf Course. Enjoy an unforgettable performance by Douglas Rogiers,a versatile entertainer who takes guests on a journey through the Great American Songbook,featuring timeless classics and capturing the charisma of Frank Sinatra and the energy of David Bowie. The Anaheim Hills Women’s Club is a social organization open to all women in the community. In addition to monthly luncheons, members can participate in various activities, including a breakfast group, Bunco, a wine group, and a golf group.Gayle Huff currently serves as club president. The recent Holiday Basket of Miracles program, organized by Miracle for Kids, was a resounding success, bringing joy to over 400 families with critically ill children during the holidays. Thanks to the generous efforts of businesses, organizations and individuals, a record number of participants joined the “Adopt-a-Family” initiative. Volunteers wrapped over 8,000 gifts, which were hand-delivered or shipped to families in time for Christmas. “This program is only possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, and community partners coming together that make miracles happen for 438 families this holiday season,” stated Autumn Strier, co-founder and CEO of Miracles for Kids. This year marks the organization’s 20th anniversary of providing financial aid, housing, essential resources, and basic needs to families struggling to care for their critically ill children. The Miracle Manor, located near the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, offers long-term housing, allowing families to be close to their children during treatment.Recycle and Support the Community
The Knights of Columbus at San Antonio Catholic Church are hosting a “Recycle Saturday” on January 4th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am to collect CRV containers,including glass,bottles,and cans. Drop off your CRV-marked beverage containers in the church’s south parking lot off Solomon Avenue. This monthly fundraiser supports charitable organizations such as Thomas House, Mary’s Path, Patriots and Paws, Isaiah’s House, and Camp Pendleton.
