Canon Brazil announces the launch of two new full-frame mirrorless professional cameras: the EOS R1 and the EOS R5 Mark II. The EOS R1 is designed for professional photographers and video producers, covering a wide range of areas, including sports, photojournalism, reporting and high-quality video production. The EOS R5 Mark II presents enhanced video-focused features for content creators and, like the EOS R1, has a real-time multi-tracking and recognition system.
Key features of the EOS R1 include:
- 24.2-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated overlay CMOS sensor with a new processing system for extremely fast readout
- Increased reading speed, reducing rolling shutter distortions
- Still image capture at up to 40 fps
- “Cross-type AF” image sensor for precise focus on linear details
- Huge video capabilities up to 4K, with 6K RAW video options
Canon EOS R5 Mark II
The EOS R5 Mark II offers essential elements for sports photographers, wildlife photographers, journalists, videographers and visual creators. Key features of the EOS R5 Mark II include:
- 45-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated overlay CMOS sensor with new processing system for fast readout
- Compared to previous EOS R camera models, the AF system is more advanced, including Eye Control AF and new subject tracking technologies
- Cinema EOS series video features such as:
- Custom image color profile including Canon Log 2
- Waveform Monitor and False Color
- 4 channels of audio with 24 bit LPCM
- Pre-recording up to 5 seconds
The EOS R5 Mark II accessories have been designed with the end user in mind. There is a new battery, the LP-E6P, with increased power and double the amperage compared to previous versions. Optional GRIPS have also been designed with three options:
– BG-R20 – Battery expansion and vertical camera operation
– BG-R20EP with Ethernet connection – Battery expansion, vertical camera operation and enables wired communication for high-speed transmission
– CF-R20EP with fan and Ethernet connection – Battery expansion, Ethernet communication and cooling fan help maximize performance in video recordings
Both cameras feature the new DIG!C Accelerator, an addition to the DIG!C X processor. The DIG!C Accelerator assists in deep learning processing, enabling rapid analysis of large volumes of data and supporting the Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system.
Dual Pixel Intelligent AF, based on Accelerated Capture, provides advances in tracking, such as estimating body area, joint and head, as well as focusing on people other than the main subject.
The EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II cameras, as well as their accessories, will be officially available in Brazil in the second half of 2024, through Canon Brazil.
