Councilor Nicolás Rodríguez, presented his candidacy for mayor of Río Tercero for the “Nuevas Ideas” alliance, made up of the Encuentro Vecinal Córdoba and Partido Laborista parties.
The presentation was made through a video that he published on his social networks. “For me, Easter Sunday is the most important day of the year,” said the 31-year-old councilor, when asked by The voice regarding the reason for its launch on such a special day.

Rodríguez will be the only pre-candidate for mayor who will present the Nuevas Ideas alliance in the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory elections (PASO) that will take place on Sunday, June 4 in Río Tercero.
Rodríguez was elected councilor in 2019 by the Frente Todos por Río Tercero alliance, a political space now called Together for the City led by Juan Pablo Peirone and which brought together the PRO, judges, radicals not aligned with his party and others.
The mayor remained within Peirone’s space until a year ago, when he decided to embark on his new political project, already away from who was his leader and three times candidate for mayor in this city, in 2011, 2015 and 2019.
There are six pre-candidates scored
So far there are at least six political leaders from Río Tercero who have expressed that they will participate in the PASO.
The radical María Luisa Luconi, but now through her Cuidarte space, confirmed that she will go to the first ones on her own and not within Together for Change.
Ramón “Nito” Rodríguez, a member of local Peronism, said that he will present himself for the Solidarity Party.
Pedro Bossa, of the PRO, has already launched himself as a candidate for that party but within Together for Change, to compete with the candidate presented by the UCR.
Daniel Rotti, leader of the PRO, announced his intention to run outside but has not yet been able to define which party he would do so for (the PRO does not endorse it).
For justicialismo, José María López, current director of the Military Factory, has already announced his intention to become a candidate once more as in 2019, for the PJ, which will now go with the seal “United for Río Tercero” (a mostly justicialist space but which try to add other adhesions). It is probable that other names appear in the PJ.
For Together for Change, the definition of the UCR is awaited: the current mayor Marcos Ferrer insists until now that they have not yet defined whether he will go for his re-election, although in his environment he takes it for granted. If it were not Ferrer, the UCR does not have “outgoing” names released.
A novelty is that the Frente Todos por Río Tercero seems to have emerged from the local political scene, which led judge Juan Pablo Peirone three times as candidate for mayor (on all three occasions he was the second electoral force) and that in this turn he withdrew so as not to break the Together for Change alliance in the city this time.
In a few days there will be no more doubts because the deadline to present alliances and pre-candidates for the June 4 primaries expires.
