“Canário” justifies defeats in Moçambola: “we were harmed by the referees” – O País

The management of Costa do Sol says that the men with the whistle harmed the team in the first two rounds of Moçambola 2023 and vehemently protests the biased behavior of the arbitration teams, which tend to falsify the sporting truth.

It was through a press conference that the management of Costa do Sol, through the mouth of its vice-president, Jeremias da Costa, accused the referees Fernando Júnior and Filimão Correia, who officiated the games once morest Ferroviário de Quelimane and Black Bulls, respectively , that they are hurting the team.

In detail, Jeremias da Costa, who in the end did not leave room for questions from the journalists, spoke of some moves that took place in the respective games and that, in the opinion of the community, were not well judged by the arbitration teams.

In the Quelimane match, Da Costa referred to the penalty awarded to the “locomotives”, in which, as he said, “the assistant referee, who was monitoring the Quelimane Railway’s attacks, did not see any infringement in the bid. But, in the same move, following a hesitation, the main referee, without much conviction, pointed to the penalty mark”. That is, “in the play itself, at no time did the ball hit the hand or arm of one of our players, that is, in this play, there was no act punishable as a major penalty that punished our team”.

Also in that game, Costa do Sol saw a goal annulled and the board found no reason for that annulment. “During the goal we scored, we didn’t see any infraction that would justify the annulment of our goal, whether it was an offside or an offensive foul”, argued Da Costa.

As for the game once morest Black Bulls, Costa do Sol accuses Filimão Correia of having been biased, starting with the move in which Chamboco hits Mbulu, in an illegal entry. For the “canarinhos”, the bid deserved a red card and not the yellow card admonished to the “bull”.

Another move analyzed is Nené’s supposed foul in the area on Isac de Carvalho. Jeremias da Costa says that “scandalously, the referee did not signal for the penalty mark”.

Furthermore, according to Da Costa, the referee let the Black Bulls players play as they pleased, including the goalkeeper, who took a long time to replace the ball. He also says that these are not normal behaviors in a football game.

In view of all the reports presented, Costa do Sol claims to vehemently protest the biased behavior of the refereeing teams in the two games, which tend to distort the sporting truth and harm their team, demanding an intervention from the authorities that oversee football.

“The Costa do Sol Sports Club requests the entities that oversee national football, namely the Mozambican Football Federation, the Mozambican Football League, as well as the CNAF and also the Government, through the Secretary of State for Sports , so that acts that undermine the sporting truth are considered serious and those who practice them are sanctioned, under penalty of biased actions by the referees and the negative reactions of their agents, press and supporters, seriously harming the credibility of the football industry, with impact on the value chain and on the national economy”, appealed Jeremias da Costa.

Incidentally, the director also asked for the intervention of the Attorney General’s Office, since, for the club, these practices constitute acts of corruption within the refereeing of Mozambican football.

It should be remembered that Costa do Sol added the two games played by defeats, both by the same result, 1-0, being therefore the last classified, without any point and without any goal.

In the next round, Costa do Sol will face Baía de Pemba FC, third from last, with two points.

CLUBS REMOVE MAPUTO BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION DIRECTORS AND APPOINT A MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The clubs in the country’s capital have taken the decision to dismiss the board of the Maputo City Basketball Association due to lack of activities, a situation that undermines the basket ball modality. Therefore, the entire cast of Felisberto Macuácua was removed, who continued the mandate of Rui Hélder Guilaze, president who lost his life in May 2021.

The decision was taken during the Ordinary General Assembly of the Maputo City Basketball Association. Subsequently, the clubs assumed responsibility for managing the sport, according to Lance.

The inactivity experienced by basketball in the country’s capital, the largest and oldest association, characterized by the lack of competitions, stems from the debt of 130,000 Meticais to referees and table judges.

Felisberto Macuácua, who headed the now-dismissed board, accepted the clubs’ decision and hopes that the sport will continue to thrive in the future.

“The clubs are sovereign and the association is made by them who decided unanimously, taking the liberty of following proposals that, in their view, are better for basketball in the City of Maputo, so we accept this sovereign decision of the associates”, revealed Felisberto Macuácua, cited by Lance.

Rui Chelene, head of Costa do Sol’s basketball office, said, quoted by Lance, that the decision to dismiss the previous leadership was well taken. “The decision was unanimous and taken by all clubs in view of the current situation in our basketball. A few days ago, we heard the national coaches complain regarding this inactivity, taking into account that the national teams have commitments in the month of July, so we decided to take this decision and bet on a group of young people who want to implement a new dynamic in the modality”, he said. Chelene.

Thus, the Management Commission will be composed of five members, namely Sérgio Itie (former Desportivo player and head of the Basketball Department), Ebenizario Hamela (former Costa do Sol player), Naftal Chongo (former FIBA referee), Michel Amade (connected to the Maputo Railway) and Anastácio Monteiro (former referee).

The Management Commission will be sworn in on the 6th of May, at an Extraordinary General Assembly, in which they will have to present their work plan to rescue basketball in the country’s capital, by the 16th of December, the date that was proposed for the holding elections for the new ABCM board.

It should be noted that the reports and accounts for the last financial years were not approved at the said General Assembly, and it was agreed that the board that resigned should correct the documents and present them by the 28th of April.

Costa do Sol, Maxaquene, A Politécnica, Bela Rosa and Ferroviário de Maputo were the clubs that took the decision, while Desportivo Maputo abstained. Aeroporto, Lazio and Universidade Pedagógica were not entitled to vote because their delegates did not present credentials for the purpose.
