Canara Bank Managing Director presents Rs 18,380 crore cheque to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Canara Bank Managing Director and CEO K Satyanarayana Raju has handed over a dividend cheque of Rs 18,380 crore for the financial year 2023-24 to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Raju handed over the cheque at an event in Delhi on Wednesday attended by Prashant Kumar Goyal, Joint Secretary, Finance Ministry, and the bank’s executive directors Debashish Mukherjee, Ashok Chandra, Hardeep Singh Ahluwalia, Bhavendra Kumar and Delhi circle chief general manager Rajesh Kumar Singh.

“The dividend payment reflects Canara Bank’s strong commitment to shareholders and its strong financial position, supported by strategic initiatives and sound banking practices. The bank will continue to play a key role in supporting India’s economic growth and development through its wide range of financial products and services,” the bank said in a statement.

The bank’s Managing Director expressed pride over the bank’s performance and its contribution to the country’s financial stability. “It is an honour for me to present this dividend cheque to the Honourable Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team at Canara Bank. We remain committed to creating value for our shareholders and contributing to the country’s economic progress,” Raju said.
