Canal+ participates in the rescue of the Nordic streaming platform Viaplay

In difficulty, the Swedish streaming operator Viaplay, former European hope for Netflix-type video streaming, announced this Friday a capital restructuring which caused the price of Stock market of the company, of which Canal+ has recently become the largest shareholder.

The operation provides for a capital injection of 4 billion Swedish crowns, or approximately 350 million euros. The company will write down 2 billion crowns of debt and renegotiate the terms of debt totaling 14.6 billion crowns (1.3 billion euros).
