The voice of the French-speaking frequency of the bilingual Bienne radio station Canal 3 was definitively silent on Wednesday, after forty years of activity. As of next week, it will be absorbed by RJB.
“There’s a lot of nostalgia.” Host, Farida Gacond had the honor of presenting the last Canal 3 program on Wednesday. From Monday, the management of the BNJ and Gassmann groups will pool the radio forces of the programs of Radio Jura bernois (RJB) and Canal 3.
The objective is to offer listeners “a unique French-speaking program in the Bernese Jura and the Biel region”.
“I am very, very proud of the whole team”, testifies Michael Reusser, director of programs at Canal 3, Thursday in La Matinale de la RTS. “Until the last minute, she offered the best program possible.”
And to add: “I am delighted to listen to the voices of Canal 3 on the future program of RJB.” There will be no layoffs. The animators will continue their adventure on RJB.
Dominique Antenen, former host at Canal 3, voice of HC Bienne and face of TeleBielingue, remembers his radio debut with emotion. “In 1983, the radio premises were located above a bakery. By putting on long enough music, we had time to get a coffee. It was a good time (smile).”
Union de BNJ et Gassmann
BNJ and Gassmann created RJB SA under the aegis of a new holding company JBBS SA. The entity will broadcast a single program between RJB and Canal 3 radios under the name RJB.
The Canal 3 studio in Biel will be retained, while the headquarters of the company RJB SA – created in equal shares between BNJ and Gassmann – and its main studio will be located in Tavannes as hitherto.
The BNJ group notably manages the Jura Arc radio stations RJB, RTN, RFJ and GRRIF. The Gassmann group owns the media Journal du Jura, Bieler Tagblatt, Canal 3, TeleBielingue and the Ajour.ch platform.
Note that the German-speaking frequency of the Bienne radio Canal 3 continues its broadcasts.
