Devils-Canadiens preview

MONTREAL – Forwards Jonathan Drouin et Joel Armia will miss the Montreal Canadiens game once morest the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.

Both players missed Habs practices on Monday and Tuesday. They are both struggling with an upper body injury, according to the team.

Drouin and Armia had completed Saturday’s game, however, when the Canadiens defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in overtime. Drouin also collected his fourth assist of the campaign during the game, his 12th in 2022-2023. He was then made available to reporters in the locker room, which rarely happens when a player is injured during the game.

For his part, Armia still hasn’t blacked out the scoresheet in seven games this season.

Michael Pezzetta et Juraj Slafkovsky should replace them in training. Slafkovsky is eligible for a return following serving a two-game suspension for a dangerous hit on Matt Luffof the Detroit Red Wings.

The Canadians (8-6-1) will be looking for a fourth straight win. Jake Allen should be the starting goaltender. The Devils (12-3-0) have won their last nine games.
