The Canadiens forward Cole Caufield will accompany his teammates to Ottawa and should be able to face the Senators on Wednesday night.
Caufield suffered a violent contact with Calgary Flames forward Trevor Lewis on Monday in the Canadiens’ eventual 2-1 shootout victory. The American seemed stunned on the streak, which occurred early in the second period. He did not return to the game followingwards.
Caufield leads the Canadiens with 16 goals in 28 games this season. He also had nine assists.
The defender Mike Matheson (lower body) will not be on the trip and his state of health will continue to be reassessed daily. the attacker Jonathan Drouin is getting closer to a return to play and will accompany his teammates to Ottawa. His state of health is also reassessed daily.
Finally, the defender David Savard (upper body) and striker Sean Monahan (lower body) will miss two to three weeks of activity.
After his duel once morest the Senators on Wednesday, the Canadiens will be back at the Bell Center on Thursday for a duel once morest the Anaheim Ducks. Samuel Montembeault will be the CH starting goaltender once morest the Senators.
