The Canadiens have announced that they have listed the defender’s name David Savard on the injured list on Saturday.
The move is retroactive to December 4 as the defender is hampered by an upper-body injury. The Habs had indicated earlier this week that Savard and Sean Monahan should miss between two and three weeks of activities.
The defenseman has been sidelined since Dec. 3 against the Edmonton Oilers. In 24 games this season, the 32-year-old has one goal and seven assists.
The Canadiens will play their next seven games on opposing rinks with a first stop against the Coyotes in Arizona.
