Ottawa: A news anchor won applause by replying to a body shaming person live on her channel. Canadian news anchor Leslie Horton fired back at the abuser.

The incident happened during the traffic news segment as usual in the morning show on Global News channel.

Leslie spoke of a man who insulted her appearance by emailing her ‘congratulations on being pregnant’.

The next thing to talk regarding is an email he received during a news presentation

Leslie said she was reading an abusive e-mail. Leslie’s first response to the email was a thank you. She said she was not pregnant and had lost her uterus to cancer last year. This is what women her age look like. If you find it annoying, that’s unfortunate. Leslie concluded by saying to think regarding the e-mails you send.

In response to the body shaming, Leslie has received an outpouring of praise on social media. ‘You are a cancer fighter. Fighting for women everywhere. Keep doing what you’re doing!” responded the Canadian Cancer Society.
