Canadian private investment fund Ethical Capital Partners (ECP) announced the purchase of MindGeek, which, in particular, owns the porn site Pornhub. This was reported by the press service ECP.
The foundation said in a statement that with a new owner, MindGeek will continue to implement better security protocols and its platforms will be “inclusive” and “sex positive.” ECP, in turn, will increase the potential of MindGeek by investing in “world-class content”.
MindGeek was founded in 2004. In addition to Pornhub, the company now owns a number of other adult content resources and porn studios, including Brazzers and YouPorn.
Established in 2022, ECP invests in technology projects that have “legal and regulatory complexities,” the company’s website says.
