The Montreal Canadiens sold goaltender Cayden Primeau to the Laval Rocket on Friday, their school club in the American Hockey League.
Primeau had been recalled the day before to play the game once morest the Philadelphia Flyers. The 22-year-old American goaltender stopped 37 shots in 65 minutes of play, before frustrating the three opposing shooters in a shootout, and the Canadian won 3-2.
It was Primeau’s first victory in three starts with the Canadiens this season. He improved his NHL career record to 3-5-1.
The Habs’ seventh-round pick in 2017, 199th overall, Primeau is 8-6-1 with the Rocket this season. His average is 2.77 and his efficiency rate is .912. He has won four of his last five games with the Rocket, who were to face the Providence Bruins at Place Bell behind closed doors on Friday night.
