Canadian astronomers have discovered two water planets

SciTechDaily informsthat with the help of the Hubble and Spitzer telescopes, astronomers from Canada managed to detect two planets that are water worlds. They were named Kepler-138c and Kepler-138d.

The found exoplanets are 2-3 times larger than the Earth and consist mainly of water. Scientists did not find the liquid directly, but calculations showed that a significant part of Kepler-138c and Kepler-138d should contain volatile substances heavier than hydrogen or helium.

Recently appeared new data on an exoplanet located near the Earth. Preliminary reports about the find were made in May of this year, and only now scientists have shared the results of its study.
