On February 5, a large number of protesters continued to rally and demonstrate in Ottawa’s Parliament Hill area.

[Overseas Network]In the past few days, many truck drivers and anti-vaccine coercion people in Canada have formed a so-called “freedom convoy”, which has driven into the country’s capital Ottawa for protests and demonstrations, and this momentum has spread across the country. The city government of Ottawa, the capital of Canada, issued a statement on February 6, local time, declaring a state of emergency in the city.
According to foreign media reports such as Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Russian Network, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson (Jim Watson) declared a state of emergency in the city on the 6th, saying that “the safety of residents faces serious dangers and threats”. “The current situation is completely out of control,” Watson said. “There are more protesters than the police, and I’ve made it clear to the police that we have to be more flexible and proactive during protests.”
Before declaring a state of emergency in Ottawa, Watson also expressed hope that the federal government would help suppress the protests, the report said.
The recent protests in Canada were initially aimed at a new rule introduced by the Trudeau government on Jan. 15 that requires truck drivers to show proof of vaccinations when entering Canada. Before that, there were few restrictions on truck drivers crossing the U.S.-Canada border. The protests later morphed into opposition to various public health restrictions in Canada.
