Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, will usher in the cherry blossom viewing season next month.
However, US Fox News reported that Washington officials reminded local residents and tourists not to wear the sought-following Canadian brand Canada Goose jacket, so as not to become the target of robbers.

There have been two related robberies at the Foggy Bottom campus, George Washington University, a cherry blossom viewing spot.
One of the cases that happened last week was that a family of three from New York was wandering around DuPont Circle (DuPont Circle) in Washington DC. They said they were pointed at guns by robbers in broad daylight and forced them to hand over their Canada Goose jacket.
Victim Julian Kaufman told NBC: “I’m a lawyer living in the South Bronx (South Bronx), a poor area in New York, and I think I can face these things. Suddenly someone said, ‘Give me your coat! Give me your coat! Me your coat!”, I thought he was joking, and then he waved the gun at me, and I took off the coat and gave it to him.”

In another case, a student was surrounded by three suspects last month and his coat was taken away following a round of punches and kicks.
Fox News pointed out that Canada Goose jackets are expensive, with prices ranging from several hundred to $1,500.
Robbers in other cities have also targeted it, with a Canada Goose store in Chicago robbed last month through a broken window. Since 2016, the brand’s outerwear has been a favorite among Chicago burglars, local media reported.
