Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27th with a renewed experience and technologies that promise to greatly enhance the player’s immersion. Today we can see what the requirements are to run the game from performance mode to the ray tracing version with a high level of quality.
The requirements were revealed today by Remedy, the game’s developer. They state that you need to have a PC with Windows 10 or 11 64 bits, 16 GB of RAM and 90 GB free on an SSD in all configurations.
To play Alan Wake 2 on minimum settings with 1080p resolution at 30 fps you will need an Intel i5-7600K processor or equivalent and a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU or a Radeon RX 6600 with 6 GB of VRAM.
To reach 60 fps you need a Ryzen 7 3700X processor or equivalent, paired with a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700 GPU with 8 GB of VRAM in performance mode.
If you want to play at maximum quality in 4K, it is recommended to have a GeForce RTX 4080 GPU with 16 GB of VRAM, Ryzen 7 3700X processor or similar with graphics in performance mode and ray tracing activated in high mode and path tracing turned on, as This will be the second game in the world to use this technology.
This is bad news for those who don’t have a PC with NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR support, as both technologies are part of the minimum requirements. Fortunately, those who purchase the game will receive free DLC and content in the future to offset the initial requirements.
