Elon’s defense was bolstered by Caleb Curtain, who recorded 12 tackles and a pass breakup, alongside Cazeem Moore who added a sack.
Randall King and Sincere Brown made history by combining for 280 receiving yards and four touchdowns, achieving the highest combined receiving yards by a duo in Campbell’s history. King had an impressive outing with seven receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Brown notched seven catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns, marking his fifth game of the season with over 100 receiving yards.
Mike Chandler II made his debut as a Camel quarterback, completing 22 of 39 passes for a phenomenal 355 yards and four touchdowns, also rushing for a team-leading 51 yards on 10 carries. Chandler, a transfer from Lamar University, previously had substantial experience with the Cardinals, having played in 24 games with 11 starts.

Chad Mascoe, Jr. has been a standout performer for Campbell, having thrown for a total of 1,611 yards this season, averaging an impressive 201.4 yards per game with 12 touchdowns to his name, completing 67.8 percent of his attempts, and contributing a rushing touchdown. Sincere Brown leads in receiving with 889 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Mike Chandler II checks in with a team-high 350 rushing yards, including two touchdowns.
Defensively, Jalen Brooks stands out with 85 tackles, including 6.0 tackles for loss, alongside an interception and two fumble recoveries. Jojo Pace has made valuable contributions as well, tallying 66 tackles and two interceptions.
THE MATCHUP: RICHMOND

Zach Palmer-Smith has been instrumental for Richmond, racking up nine rushing touchdowns while averaging 103.0 rushing yards per game. Camden Coleman has demonstrated his prowess as a passer, throwing for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns, while Nick DeGennaro adds to the receiving core with 515 yards and three touchdowns. On the defensive side, Carter Glassmyer and Wayne Galloway have tackled a combined total of 107 players, including 12.5 tackles for losses.
Saturday’s game marks the Richmond Spiders’ first visit to Buies Creek. In the previous season, the Spiders faced off against Campbell in their only matchup, where they dominated the Camels 44-13 at Robins Stadium, capitalizing with a remarkable 28-point fourth quarter.
BROWN NEARING 1,000 MARK
With 889 receiving yards thus far in the season and three games left to play, Campbell’s standout wide receiver Sincere Brown is on track to achieve the coveted 1,000-yard milestone. If successful, the Charleston, S.C. native would join an elite group of just three Camels to have accomplished this feat in a single season, following in the footsteps of Caleb Snead (1,067 yards in 2021) and Aaron Blockmon (1,038 yards in 2016). Currently, Brown occupies the third spot on the Campbell single-season receiving yardage chart, and with his next touchdown reception, he would surpass Snead and Blockmon to set a new record for the most receiving touchdowns in a single season, currently standing at 10.
CAMELS SCHEDULE AMONG FCS’ TOUGHEST
Campbell finds itself navigating one of the most challenging schedules in the FCS for the second year in a row as a member of the Coastal Athletic Conference, with its strength of schedule currently ranked 15th according to NCAA.org.
The upcoming match against the 13th ranked Richmond will mark Campbell’s third game this season against a nationally ranked opponent, having secured a win against one while losing to another. Richmond represents the eighth opponent Campbell has faced this season that is either currently or has previously been ranked in the top-25, including a matchup against Liberty at the FBS level. Notably, Southern Illinois is recognized for possessing the toughest road schedule in the FCS, while North Carolina A&T is distinguished with the most formidable schedule in the CAA, ranked fifth overall.
BROWN, KING COLLECT RECORD TOTAL RECEIVING YARDS
The standout performance by Randall King and Sincere Brown will be remembered; the duo racked up a historic 280 yards and four touchdowns receiving during the game against Elon, setting the record for the most combined receiving yards for any Campbell pair in history. King excelled with seven receptions for a season-best 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Brown matched him with seven catches accumulating 135 yards and and adding scoring efforts with two touchdowns.
This game marked Brown’s fifth appearance with over 100 receiving yards this season, showcasing his offensive prowess for the Camels. Notably, King secured the leading receiving title for the Camels for the second time in three games, achieving the highest receiving yardage by a freshman player this season.
CHANDLER SHINES IN FIRST START
In a remarkable debut as the starting quarterback for Campbell, Mike Chandler II dazzled fans with a standout performance, completing 22 of 39 passes for an impressive 355 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for a team-high 51 yards on 10 attempts. Chandler, previously with Lamar, exhibited his readiness, having gained experience across 24 games, including 11 starting roles for the Cardinals.

*Chad Mascoe:* Thanks for having me! The atmosphere in the locker room is a mix of determination and excitement. We learned a lot from our last game against Elon, and we’re focused on bouncing back. Richmond is a tough opponent, but we believe in each other, and we’re ready for the challenge.
*Interviewer:* Richmond is currently ranked 13th and has shown strong performance this season. What do you think will be the keys to a successful game against them?
*Chad Mascoe:* Definitely, they’re a well-coached team with talented players. We need to execute our game plan and limit turnovers. Offensively, we have to establish a rhythm early and convert on crucial downs. Also, our defense needs to be aggressive and get pressure on their quarterback. Every play counts when facing a ranked team.

*Chad Mascoe:* I’m proud of my progress, especially coming into this season as a transfer. But there’s always room for improvement. I want to be more consistent with my decisions and work on my timing with the receivers. I think that’ll help elevate our offense as we push through these last few games.
*Interviewer:* Sincere Brown is on track to potentially hit 1,000 receiving yards this season. How crucial has he been to your offense, and what makes him special as a player?
*Chad Mascoe:* Sincere is a phenomenal talent—his speed and route-running ability open up the field for us. He’s not just a great receiver but also a leader in the locker room. Having him as a target gives me confidence, and I trust him to make plays when it counts. Hopefully, we can get him that milestone this Saturday!
