The Darío Santillán Popular Front (UTEP) announced an indefinite camp in the municipality of Cipolletti this Wednesday, November 22. They demand public works for their work cooperatives and denounce cuts in contributions to picnic areas.
“With highly questioned municipal management, before leaving, officials leave thousands of families without social assistance,” says the group’s statement confirming the measure.
According to what they stated, the claim seeks to demonstrate the deep indignation and repudiation at the lack of food assistance, cuts in gas vouchers and cleaning products that “We are suffering in our dining rooms and picnic areas, and we also demand concrete responses from the municipality of Cipolletti regarding the lack of public works for our work cooperatives.”
The Popular Front considered “unacceptable” In the midst of an economic and social crisis, municipal authorities are cutting resources for the most vulnerable sectors of our city and also pointed out the provincial government of Río Negro, which they considered “It helps half-heartedly, delivering a small number of modules and fewer and fewer items within it.”
They also confirm that requests were made to carry out infrastructure works in the neighborhoods, to benefit the work cooperative that manages the group but also “to the community as a whole.”
In the published text they explain that they requested an audience with the elected mayor of Cipolletti, Rodrigo Buteler, who “It seems that he does not understand the situation we are in or takes an outsider’s view of the problems that he will have to solve with his management.”
«We are not going to allow our rights and resources to continue being cut.“We are organized and willing to continue fighting,” the letter reads.
