They entered the schoolyard and disturbed the participants of this camp on numerous occasions. This weekend, the one of the facilitators called out to one of the agitators. The latter spat on the facilitator and threatened him. This is obviously unacceptable! The camp officials then called the police. No longer feeling safe, the latter also made the decision to interrupt the camp. The parents came to pick up their children on Sunday evening. These disruptive elements, some of whom are minors, are well known, in particular to the police….”
For mayor Philippe Bontemps, the cup is full and he does not intend to stop there: “I am planning short-term measures. Another camp will arrive in the coming days and I do not want such a situation to happen once more. signs prohibiting access to the school will be placed and the five entrances to the school will be closed with barriers and padlocks.Secondly, I have asked the Police Zone to further reinforce the rounds in Barvaux. The mayor also counts, in the long term, on the placement of cameras. “This is a reflection that we have been carrying out for several months. Just like in Marche and in other municipalities, we intend to request a design office to study the best possible implementation of this camera system, so that they are installed in the most strategic places”, concludes Philippe Bontemps.
