A camp installed a few steps from the border wall in the Mexican Ciudad Juárez, in which some 300 migrants had been for two days in the hope that the doors would open for legal passage, was dissolved this Tuesday by the United States National Guard. Joined.

The migrants indicated that some of them were evicted with violence, and others were shot at by elements of the National Guard without immigration authorities reaching the place in the more than two days that they remained at the site.

Furthermore, they said they felt cornered between the violence of Mexico and that exerted on them by the United States guards.

During the eviction, EFE was able to verify that elements of the National Guard were addressing the migrants in a violent tone and with high-sounding words.

“They threaten with a firearm, you can’t do that in life, obscene words… We are threatened on both sides, both by Mexico because it is very dangerous and by the United States, now we are going to go through another door to see if we can enter there”said the Venezuelan Pedro Enriquez.

“On the Mexican side sometimes strange trucks arrive and threaten you, what do you do? If we run here (to Mexico) they are going to threaten us, if we run there (the United States) they are going to threaten us. What do we do? “We are all cornered” the migrant said.

The migrants who were evicted yesterday indicated that they had been waiting up to 48 hours to be able to enter, but immigration authorities did not come closer.

“I don’t know why they made the decision not to let us pass, from one moment to the next everything goes down, they will have their reasons but I don’t know what they are,” pointed out the Venezuelan Daniel Cardenas33 years old, who has been in Juárez for two months waiting for the CBP One appointment.

“There were women, children, elderly people, now we have to continue to see where we can enter”he pointed.

For its part, the United States Consulate in Ciudad Juárez clarified that there are no steps open to legal migration.

“Rumors circulating on social media that areas of the southwest border, specifically in the El Paso Sector, are open to legal migration, are completely false.“, he claimed.

Likewise, he recalled that it will only process those who arrive through a CBP One appointment and that the United States has implemented a comprehensive plan to secure the border and build a safe, orderly and humane immigration system.

“This includes significant consequences for those who trespass, placing those individuals on quick removal, as well as applying the new Avoidance of Lawful Ways rule.”he added.

The event reflects a new migratory wave in Mexico, where the migratory flow passing through the country to the United States has rebounded after the initial drop caused last May by the expiration of US Title 42.
