Camila Cabello talked regarding the reasons for the break with Shawn Mendes

The singer spoke with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1, on March 3, and gave details of the creative process of her new album Family.
“Those years that we were dating…even while I was writing this album and even now, I think my focus is really, ‘How can I be a whole person?’“said Cabello.
Over time, the goals of each began to change and that forced a decision.
“And I feel like that’s how it was for both of us, because we both started really young too, it’s like we’re really learning how to be healthy adults. And that sometimes means not having your main focus on your career“, Cabello explained, making it clear that her term with Mendes was due to an act of maturity to focus on her musical career.
In November of last year, when they announced their breakup, they both promised “stay best friends” and they are succeeding.
