Cameroonian imprisoned for falsifying Gabonese administrative documents in Port-Gentil –

He is over 60 years old, an English and French speaking Cameroonian, father of three children. His name is Tanyi Takem Takuembangha, he is accused of forgery and use of forgery. The elements of the National Gendarmerie of the West Legion of the Ocean Camp, managed to get their hands on him after more than 20 years of falsification. In Port-Gentil alone, the economic capital, he issued to more than a hundred people fake residence permit slips, fake registration forms, fake driving licenses, fake consular cards, fake medical certificates, fake work certificates, fake training certificates, fake resumes and much more.

“At first I did this because I didn’t have a job, but as soon as I bought the taxi in 2019, I stopped,” and reconnu Tanya Takem Takuembangha.

With a simple computer, a USB key and a basic knowledge of computers, the neo-computer scientist was able to fool several compatriots for years. Some people looking for a work certificate or any certificate were forced to pay the sum of 25,000 FCFA, 50,000 FCFA and even quintuple to obtain these papers depending on the request. He practiced this little financial health in secret without employers or the competent authorities even noticing.

According to him, “I only issued these papers to my English-speaking Cameroonian brothers who are here. It was to help them find something to do.”

To date, many of them are circulating or working with false administrative documents in the economic capital. For this act of forgery and use of forgery provided for and punished by Article 121 of the Gabonese Penal Code, the alleged perpetrator was received at the central prison of Port-Gentil after his hearing at the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the oil city.
