A national vaccination campaign once morest measles and rubella was launched on Wednesday in the ten regions of Cameroon, we learned from an official source.

The vaccination campaign scheduled for July 5-9, 2023 concerns approximately 5.5 million children aged nine months to five years, according to the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

The targeted children would receive a dose of the vaccine once morest measles and rubella in health facilities and places of gatherings such as markets, crossroads, places of worship, can we read in a bulletin published Tuesday by the EPI.

According to the same source, this operation aims to strengthen children’s immunity and stop the spread of ongoing epidemics by vaccinating at least 95% of targeted children, as these diseases have already affected more than 4,000 children and claimed 18 lives. in this Central African country.
