Cambodia and Laos will sign a five-year action plan for a long-term and comprehensive partnership between the two countries, a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said.
The signing ceremony is expected to take place within the framework of the official visit to Laos from February 13-14 by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will visit Laos at the invitation of his host country counterpart Sonexay Siphandone. This is the first meeting between the prime ministers of the two countries, since Mr Sonexay Siphandone in office in December 2022.

The press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that during the upcoming talks, the two countries’ prime ministers will discuss measures to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in all fields. including political and socio-economic security. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
After the talks, the two Prime Ministers will sign the Action Plan for the long-term and comprehensive strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic for the period 2023- 2027.”
Cambodia and Laos set up diplomatic relation in 1956. The relationship between the two countries was upgraded to strategic partnership relations long-term and comprehensive in 2019.
