Cambodia Cracks Down on Unlicensed Crypto Exchanges, Blocking 16 Major Platforms
Cambodia has taken a decisive step to tighten its grip on cryptocurrency operations, blocking websites of 16 major exchanging platforms.
This move comes amid growing concerns over the potential use of cryptocurrencies for illicit activities in the nation.
Major Players Blocked: Binance Included
The list of banned websites includes some of the world’s most prominent cryptocurrency exchanges, such as Binance and Coinbase. Notably, Binance, known as the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and user base, is among those now inaccessible in Cambodia. This comes despite Binance’s previous partnership with Cambodian authorities in regulating
the digital asset market.
Cambodian authorities have stated that the 102 banned website block comes as a result of their link to online gambling.
