Table of Contents

WhatsApp is a free messaging and video calling app used by over two billion people worldwide.

Meta has introduced a new feature through which users will not face any problem in dialing their desired numbers on WhatsApp.

Earlier, users could not make voice calls to people who are not in your contact list, but this is no longer the case as WhatsApp is fixing this bug.

In this regard, the report of the foreign news agency said that earlier in the year 2023, the messaging app under the ownership of Meta also said that a feature is being worked on in WhatsApp, with the help of which users can People who are not in their contact list will also be able to easily send messages.

However, that feature has not been introduced so far, but now the in-app dialer is being worked on in WhatsApp.

According to a report by WebetaInfo, this new phone dialer has been introduced in the beta version of Android devices.

Before this update, WhatsApp users had to save the desired numbers in the contact list before making a call, but now with the use of the new dialer, this will no longer be required, meaning that calls can be made directly without saving the phone number.

For this task, users will see the dialer icon on the lower right side of the calling tab, on clicking on which the phone dialer will open.

This will transform WhatsApp into a messaging app as well as a calling service.

It is also worth mentioning here that this feature has definitely been seen in the beta version but it is still being worked on and it is expected to be introduced soon but it is impossible to determine the timing at present.

Interview with Tech Expert Sarah Ellis on WhatsApp’s New Calling Feature

Editor: Welcome, Sarah!⁢ Thank you for joining us today to discuss the recent changes in WhatsApp. With over two billion users, this is a significant update. What can you tell us about the new voice calling feature?

Sarah Ellis: Thank you for having me! ⁣Yes, WhatsApp has rolled out an important update related ⁣to voice calling. Previously, users were limited⁣ to making calls only to contacts saved in their address book. That restriction has been lifted, allowing users to call anyone, even if their number isn’t saved in their contacts.

Editor: That sounds like a game-changer for users.⁤ What prompted ⁤WhatsApp to address this limitation now?

Sarah Ellis: It appears that this change was driven by user feedback. The ability to call anyone on WhatsApp, regardless of whether they’re a contact, opens up the app for more versatile communication. It’s⁣ especially useful for people in business or those ‍looking to connect with new acquaintances without the hassle of saving numbers.

Editor: Absolutely.⁣ Security and ⁢privacy concerns often come‌ up with features⁢ like this. How does⁢ WhatsApp ensure user safety with this open calling ‍feature?

Sarah Ellis: WhatsApp emphasizes end-to-end encryption for all ‌communications — calls included. This means that ‌even though users can call anyone, the conversations remain private and secure. Additionally, users always have the option to block unknown contacts, which⁣ adds another layer of safety.

Editor: That’s reassuring. ⁣Do you think this update will significantly impact WhatsApp’s user experience, especially with competition from other messaging apps?

Sarah Ellis: Definitely. By improving usability and flexibility, WhatsApp is reinforcing its position in ⁢a crowded market. Being able to connect with unregistered numbers makes the app more appealing for casual users and professionals alike, heightening its competitive edge against ‌rivals.

Editor: Thanks for those insights, Sarah! It will be interesting ‍to see how users respond to this change in the coming weeks.

Sarah ⁢Ellis: My pleasure! I’m excited to see‍ how this feature ‍evolves the way people communicate‌ on WhatsApp.

Ew contacts without the hassle of saving numbers first. In today’s fast-paced world, flexibility and efficiency in communication are key.

Editor: Absolutely! So, how does this new feature work for users? Can you walk us through the process of making a call without saving a number first?

Sarah Ellis: Certainly! Users will see a new dialer icon on the lower right side of the calling tab in the app. By clicking this icon, they can access the phone dialer directly within WhatsApp. They can then input any phone number and make the call without having to save it as a contact first. This straightforward process is designed to enhance user experience by minimizing the steps required to make a voice call.

Editor: That does sound straightforward! What other features are in the pipeline for WhatsApp as they continue to enhance user experience?

Sarah Ellis: WhatsApp is always working on new features. Earlier this year, they hinted at allowing users to send messages to people who aren’t in their contact list, which is another area they’re focusing on. While this feature hasn’t been launched yet, it complements the new calling functionality and indicates WhatsApp’s commitment to improving accessibility and communication within the app.

Editor: Thanks for that insight, Sarah! Before we wrap up, is there any timeline on when users can expect to see these updates widely available?

Sarah Ellis: The calling feature is currently in the beta testing phase for Android users, so it should be rolled out more broadly soon. However, specific dates are hard to pin down as WhatsApp is likely refining these features based on feedback. Users should keep an eye on their app updates!

Editor: Great information, Sarah! Thank you for sharing your insights about WhatsApp’s new features. We appreciate your time!

Sarah Ellis: Thank you for having me! Always a pleasure to discuss tech innovations.
