Human rights defender, Georges Mpaga, who also presents himself as spokesperson for the civil society collective on the sinking off Libreville of the ship Esther Miracle, on March 09, 2023, calls for the resignation of the Minister of l Interior, Lambert-Noël Matha and his colleague from Defense, Félicité Ngoubili.

“All the members of the government who failed, showed negligence and notorious incompetence in mobilizing and deploying the logistical means of the State (coastguards, nautical brigades of the GR, the gendarmerie, the police, air force and GR helicopters) to immediately come to the aid of the shipwrecked. By their inaction, they bear the same title as the resigning Minister of Transport, the political and operational responsibility for this tragedy.
Civil society calls for the resignation of interior and defense ministers.
