This week a meeting was held between representatives of the Cipolletti Chamber of Commerce and the Minister of Security of Río Negro, Betiana Minor in which various actions were agreed to respond to the insecurity problem in the city. One of the main requests was the formation of a Security Council. What did the minister say?
The Cipolletti Chamber of Commerce requested a meeting with the Minister of Security of Río Negro, Betiana Minor to find solutions to the growing insecurity in the city. At the meeting, the president of the Cipolletti Chamber of Commerce, Luis Bunter told the minister that the chamber carried out a survey of insecurity in the city. “The situation is alarming,” Bunter said.
As Bunter explained the acts of insecurity increased in number and there are more and more violence on the streets. “Car and wheel thefts have potentially increased, even within properties.”
Another sector affected is the construction works, “in the northeast zone they loot the works of the people who try to advance with the force of their lungs, but they steal everything. There is also an increase in minors committing crimes, and every day we see more aggressive criminal motorcycles that steal while displaying firearms,” said Bunter.
He stressed that many times the people who commit crimes are not from Cipolletti and before this He asked the minister to pay more attention to the points of entry into the city. “Many criminals enter from Neuquén, Fernández Oro and Allen to rob the city. We ask the minister to provide tools that can reduce criminal actions within the city.”
Between the requests made by the Chamber are: more police officers for the city, more mobile units, the recovery of a van from unit 32 that broke down 0km away and the concessionaire did not return it to the unit. More controls on the roads, that they incorporate ccameras at all entry points to the city.
Bunter stated that “The minister promised to send more police officers to generate a logistical solution, for this reason the graduates of one of the four police schools in the province will be assigned to Cipolletti and neighboring cities”.
However, one of the requests that the president of the chamber remarked was that Cipolletti have a Security Council, “It cannot be that the Chamber of Commerce generates these meetings. There must be a council that deals with this issue and we as a chamber will be part of that council, ”he said.
The president of the chamber of commerce explained that they were forceful with each of the requests and they hope to find a solution as a starting point to the problem of insecurity until the Security Council agrees.
Insecurity in Cipolletti: “More blue in the streets”
At the meeting one of the immediate actions requested by the Chamber of Commerce to the head of the regional unit, Daniel Andino, was the incorporation of more police officers in the streets to discourage the increase in criminal acts.
They requested that “control operations be carried out more frequently and not three times a week as they were being carried out. They must be simultaneous and articulated between the traffic personnel, the Río Negro police and the Argentine Federal police”, expressed the president of the chamber of commerce.
