The COMÚN Foundation and the magazine an.schläge are calling for people to submit activities during “16 Days Against Violence”, funding of 1,000 euros and a large portrait as a prize

Every year thousands of women in Austria are confronted with violence – it begins with language, continues with physical attacks and far too often ends in femicide. But every year many people oppose this violence and work to protect women. We want to recognize these achievements and bring them to the forefront and thus show how important activism against violence against women is

Vienna (OTS) The global campaign “16 Days Against Violence” will take place again from November 25th to December 10th, 2023. In Austria, too, attention will be drawn to the shockingly high number of attacks and murders against women. On this occasion, the non-profit foundation COMÚN, together with the feminist magazine an.schläge, is calling for civil courage and activism to be made visible in Austria. Citizens across the country are invited to take part.

All acts of civil courage can be submitted, from the commitment of courageous individuals to the work of locally active initiatives. This can equally include awareness raising, violence prevention or concrete protection against violence. One submission will be selected from all submissions, will receive 1,000 euros in cash in recognition and will also be featured in a large portrait in the magazine an.schläge in 2024.

Independent jury decides, submissions possible until December 10th
