Call for projects: “QJ Health District” – City of Paris

The Paris Health District: Time to Get Your Projects in Shape!

Ah, Paris! The city of love, croissants, and now – drum roll, please – health! Yes, folks, the Public Health Department of Paris is throwing a party, and you’re invited! But wait, it’s not just any party; it’s a call for projects targeting the health needs of our beloved youth (aged 16-30.) You’ve got till November 29 at 12 p.m. to get your thinking caps on and come up with some brilliant ideas. That’s right, it’s project submitting season, and I do hope your ideas are sharper than a French cheese knife!

How Do You Submit a File?

So, you think you have what it takes to help the young ‘uns of Paris? If your structure is not an association, no worries! Just don your best beret and register as an organization in Paris Asso. But hold your horses! You’ll need to include some details if you want to be taken seriously:

  • Title of request: “QJ health” – that’s right, don’t get fancy on us!
  • Does this request follow a call for projects from the City of Paris? – Yes, please check that box! We want to stick to the script.
  • Is it part of a political project of the city? – Well, you can check “no” on that, because we’re just here trying to keep our young people healthy, not vote them into office!

Only complete files will be examined. So, no half-baked ideas, please! This isn’t a bakery, it’s life or… well, mental health we’re discussing!

Context and Objectives

Context

Did you know that in September 2021, the City of Paris opened a Youth Quarter (QJ) at the swanky former town hall of the 1st arrondissement? That’s right, a place designed by and for youth, like the social revolution your grandma never attended! They’ve already welcomed over 4,600 young souls through workshops, health events, and the occasional health scare-checking session.

Goals

Now, with the AAP “QJ health district 2025 – 2026,” there are some clear goals to meet:

  • Continuity! Yes, folks, we want to keep the momentum going – we aren’t stopping for coffee halfway through!
  • Innovative actions – after all, who doesn’t want to feel like Steve Jobs when addressing public health? Think outside the box (but not too far – we don’t want to lose you)!

Remember, these projects should cater to all young people, regardless of background. They must address everything from mental health prevention to access to rights and nutrition. Think of it like a buffet of health opportunities (but not the dodgy kind that makes you question your life choices afterward)!

Wrap Up and Call to Action

So there you have it – a wonderful opportunity to dive headfirst into Parisian public health with your best ideas. But let’s keep it real; if you don’t submit your project, no one will know your genius. Don’t be that person who has a brilliant idea and keeps it to themselves like the last piece of a crème brûlée. Get involved, submit those ideas, and who knows? You could help steer some of those 4,600 young people toward a healthier, happier life! And if you’re lucky, you might just earn yourself a spot in the pantheon of Parisian health heroes.

Remember, the magic happens before November 29, 12 p.m. So dust off that creative engine and get going!

The Public Health Department of the City of Paris is launching a call for projects concerning the “health district” in QJ. Context and objectives

Context

In September 2021, the City of Paris opened the Youth Quarter (QJ) in the premises of the former town hall of the 1st arrondissement, 4 place du Louvre, in order to support young people aged 16 to 30 in their journey to independence.

The entire project was designed with young people, from the equipment to the organization: name, layout, services offered, reception, etc. The question of health emerged during this foreshadowing and led to the opening of the QJ health district.

Since its creation in 2021, the health district has received 4,600 young people aged 16 to 30, Parisians and Ile-de-France residents, in collective workshops, health events, reception and listening hours and screening actions.

Goals

The call for projects (AAP) “QJ health district” 2025 – 2026 aims to

  • ensure the continuity of the work accomplished during these three years,

  • to encourage innovative actions: for example, strengthening the approach to promoting overall health with a positive vision of health by strengthening the participation of young people.

Eligible projects must meet the following operational principles:

  • actions must be aimed at all young people aged 16 to 30, without distinction and unconditionally. They must take into account the needs of young people, questions and/or psychological and somatic complaints, but also the environment, representations, understanding of the health system (health literacy);

  • the outward journey must be an essential intervention modality to be integrated to establish a relationship, help formulate a request, identify needs and renunciation of rights and care;

  • innovative and creative actions based on an experiential and participatory approach for young people will be appreciated, as well as those contributing to supporting the commitment and involvement of young people in health;

  • the development of self-assessment tools, promoting empowerment, in order to trigger awareness and better autonomy will be promoted.

  • transversal practices, in connection with other sectors of QJ, are encouraged (for example in the form of joint ownership of projects, events, collective actions).

It should be noted that the health district is a place for health promotion and support towards care, but is not intended to itself become a place for long-term care and monitoring. The ability to refer to other care and support players in conjunction with the youth neighborhood coordination team will be valued.

The expected projects must be oriented aroundmental health prevention, risk reduction, sexual health, access to rights and care, physical activity and nutritional health.
