Calista Flockhart faced body shaming.
The actress, 59 and still as petite as ever, says her years working on the show Ally McBeal have been marred by constant media speculation regarding his weight and height. The series, which made her a star, aired from 1997 to 2002.
“I don’t think it might happen today,” she told New York Times. Today we are talking regarding body shaming. I haven’t thought regarding it in a long time, but it’s really not okay to accuse someone of having a disease that many people struggle with.”
Calista Flockhart said she often worried that speculation regarding her health would be enough to ruin her chances of working followingward. Ally McBeal. This made her so anxious that her health was affected. “I was an easy target, I think. It was painful, it was complicated. I loved working on Ally McBeal and that made things even more difficult. I was sleep deprived and depressed. I thought it was going to ruin my career. I thought no one would ever hire me once more, because they would have assumed I had anorexia, and that would have been the end of everything,” she said.
“Honestly, I’ve never been in a situation where I had to watch my weight,” Calista Flockhart said, adding that her mother also had a small build. “My mother is 1.50m tall and weighed 42kg when she got married. We can talk regarding a tiny little elf. I just have small bones, and I’m lucky,” she concluded.
But it was to devote herself to her family life that the one who played the famous lawyer in the legendary series moved away from the sets. In 2001, the Ally McBeal singer adopted her son, Liam, and the following year, she met Harrison Ford, whom she married in 2010. Calista Flockhart returns this year as Lee Radziwill in the series Feud: Capote vs The Swan on FX.
