« California Dreaming » de Sreylin Meas

The film is an invitation to slow down, to refocus, to experience the intimacy that the two protagonists share like a secret. In a very short lapse of fifteen minutes, Sreylin Meas offers us a bewitching film, in which slow shots and rare but powerful dialogues, revealing the modesty and sensitivity of the two women. The sequences where the protagonists move around on scooters are filmed with a shallow depth of field so that we can focus on the fullness of their faces in close-up. Conversely, the static shots when they share a moment of tenderness on the terrace of the abandoned house plunge us into a clear decor, to give life to these strong places, which create an osmosis between them. A first short film which brings to light a sensitive and promising filmmaker.
