In April of 2022, three wildfires were ignited by three separate US Forest Service escaped prescribed burns in the Santa Fe National Forest.

The two larger of these fires, the Calf Canyon Fire and the Hermits Peak Fire, had catastrophic impacts, merging to become the largest wildfire in New Mexico history, burning over 533 square miles. Over 900 structures were destroyed, including 340 homes. Thousands were displaced, traditional ways of life were forever altered, and the cost of recovery efforts is well over $5 billion. Three people died as a direct result of post-fire flooding.

Although a review of the Hermits Peak Fire was released in June of 2022. I had been waiting two and a half years for the release of the Calf Canyon Fire review. It was endured delays, likely due to the intensity and controversy surrounding the event.

What are the potential ‍political⁣ ramifications of President Biden’s post-debate interview with ABC News?

⁢## Political Roundup: Biden’s Post-Debate Interview

**Host:** Welcome back to the show. Joining us today to discuss President Biden’s first television interview since the CNN debate ⁢is political analyst Dr. Sarah Jones. Dr. Jones, thanks for ⁣being here.

**Dr. Jones:** Thanks for⁢ having me.

**Host:** So, President Biden sat down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in Wisconsin. This‌ was his first televised interview since facing off against former President Trump. What are your initial thoughts on ‌why the President chose ABC and Stephanopoulos for this interview?

**Dr. Jones:**⁣ Well, it’s interesting. ABC tends to lean slightly more centrist, and Stephanopoulos is known for his straightforward, but not overly aggressive interviewing style. This⁢ could be seen as ‍a deliberate strategy by the Biden campaign to control⁢ the narrative and present a calmer, more ⁢focused image in ⁤contrast‌ to the often chaotic nature of‍ the debate. **Host:** And you mentioned the debate. How much do you think the debate performance influenced the decision‍ to give this interview?

**Dr. Jones:** I ⁢think it played⁣ a significant role. The debate⁤ was highly anticipated and generated a lot of buzz. While Biden performed well, Trump managed to dominate ‌the news cycle with his usual ‌theatrics. This‍ interview is a chance for Biden to regain control of the conversation, ⁤directly address any concerns raised during the debate, and connect with voters on a more personal level.

**Host:** What are some key issues ‌you expect Biden to address⁢ in this interview?

**Dr. Jones:** I anticipate questions about the economy, his agenda for a second term, and his plans to deal with the ongoing political ⁢divisions in the country. It will be interesting to see ⁤how he frames his message and differentiates himself from Trump’s approach.

**Host:** Dr. Jones, thank you for sharing your insights. We’ll be keeping a close eye ‌on the furor surrounding this interview as it unfolds.
